Professional arts adjudicators attend participating high school musicals and nominate the top two performers from each production. In the spring, all nominees attend a masterclass workshop led by theatre professionals ending in a showcase performance on stage. The 2025-2026 Awards Program was held at Robinson Center on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The overall awarded best female and male performers won an all-expense paid trip to represent Central Arkansas in New York City.

​While there, the students participate in a 10 day masterclass workshop led by award-winning creatives and ultimately compete nationally, on a Broadway stage, in front of Broadway producers and directors at The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® otherwise known as the Jimmy Awards® in the summer. Winners receive a cash scholarship.
