Summer Intensive: SIX: The Musical – Teen Edition

Unlock your inner diva and step into the spotlight this summer with an unforgettable theatrical experience! Are you ready to take center stage? Join us for an exhilarating, high-energy, immersive summer intensive where you’ll spend just a few weeks preparing for a MainStage production of *SIX: The Musical – Teen Edition*. This exciting program is designed for passionate high school students who are eager to develop their performance skills while bringing the iconic story of the six wives of Henry VIII to life. Over the course of the intensive, you will:

● Work with vocal coaches to perfect the high-octane pop rock score of *SIX*, including
the empowering anthems and show-stopping numbers. Build vocal technique,
harmonies, and learn how to sing in a group while showcasing your individual voice.

● Dance workshops focusing on the choreography and movement style of *SIX*—an
electrifying blend of pop, hip-hop, and modern jazz. Gain confidence and stage presence
as you learn the powerful choreography that will bring the story to life.

● Dive deep into the backstory of each of the six queens, exploring their personalities,
struggles, and triumphs. Work with directors and mentors to create authentic, dynamic
performances that will captivate the audience.

● Collaborate with Industry Professionals: Throughout the intensive, you’ll be coached by
experienced directors, choreographers, and vocal coaches who have worked with
professional companies. We are excited to also bring in a guest artist who was one of
the Queens on BROADWAY to work with our Teen company over a weekend.

● Rehearse Like a Pro: From early rehearsals to dress rehearsals, you’ll get a taste of
what it’s like to be part of a full-scale production happening within a fast paced rehearsal
process.

The program culminates in a thrilling, fully staged MainStage performance of *SIX*, where you’ll showcase your talent to friends, family, and the community. This is not just a summer camp—this is your chance to be part of an exhilarating journey, to challenge yourself, and to grow as a performer. Whether you’re a seasoned theater veteran or new to the stage, *SIX* will offer you the opportunity to shine in ways you never thought possible.

Please note this intensive is AUDITION BASED. Auditions for SIX: The Musical Teen Edition will be held on Saturday, January 11th. Please email casting@argentacontemporarytheatre.org to reserve an audition appointment.

Performance Dates: August 13th – 17th, 2025
Rehearsal Intensive Dates: TBA (Will be determined after casting)
Tuition: $500* – Tuition includes a snack provided each day, lunches for longer rehearsal days, Broadway guest artist workshop fees, an ACT water bottle, a tshirt, a script, and all other materials. Scholarships are available.

CATHERINE OF ARAGON – A real badass monarch. Commanding, sure of herself,
bold. She lights up the room. (Range: Ab3-Eb5 – Sings lead on “No Way”)

ANNE BOLEYN – Fun-loving, always up for a laugh. Never takes anything too
seriously, but at the same time lives for the drama. Some have described her as a
“chaos goblin.” (Range: C4-E5 – Sings lead on “Don’t Lose Ur Head”

JANE SEYMOUR – Kind and sincere. Loves a dad joke, but no one is ever impressed
with Jane’s attempts at comedy. (Range: A3-D5 – Sings lead on “Heart of Stone”)

ANNA OF CLEVES – Savvy, loves her life, won history and no one even knows it.
Cleves is here for a good time. (Range: G3-B4 – Sings lead on “Get Down”)

KATHERINE HOWARD – Super smart with a wicked sense of humor. Remembered as
“the promiscuous one” – but she is SO much more than that. (Range: A3-F#5 – Sings
lead on “All You Wanna Do”)

CATHERINE PARR – Grounded, thoughtful and warm. Loves the other queens. A
champion of female empowerment. (Range: A3-E5 – Sings lead on “I Don’t Need Your
Love)

Please note we will also cast 3 swing performers who will each understudy two of the roles. The swing performers will get one guaranteed performance during the run of the show.
